39) HOMEMADE MASK FOR COMBINATION OR SENSITIVE SKIN

When I was a teenager, not only did I have oily skin, it was also very sensitive to over-the-counter skincare products and the sun.

I will have a breakout of puss filled pimples or my skin will be itchy. Sometimes, rashes will appear in patches especially on the cheeks area. Whenever I go under the sun, my skin will be flushed and red as a ripe tomato. It was that serious.

Some of my colleagues thought that  I have applied too much blusher while my well meaning relatives would exclaim to my mom that , "Your daughter is glowing with health!" It is so far from the truth-on both counts.

Due to using strong creams and cleansers that were too harsh and drying for my acne, it caused the dermis to become thinner and my skin compensated by producing more oil which was trapped under the skin and clogged the pores even more. Since the blood vessels were nearer to the surface, my face will reddened easily from heat and skincare products that contained alcohol.  My condition became worse when I started taking swimming lessons. The chlorinated water aggravated the condition that I had to seek treatment with a skin specialist who helped to clear my acne problem.

Now, I don't have this problem anymore as I am using a natural skin care product and supplements that cleared the condition as well as greatly improved my skin.

These are two mask recipes for combination and sensitive skins. I just found it online. If you have such a condition, hope it will be beneficial to you. Let me know if it works.

Raw Oatmeal

Wash off mask with a washcloth steamed in the microwave (careful that it's not too hot).

Two other fun options for oatmeal face masks:

Egg whites.(beating it is optional)

Mix the oatmeal and an egg white. Let the mixture dry on face, then gently wash off with a few splashes of warm water. Follow with a steaming washcloth to the face.
