When did you last check your heels to see if there are any crack?

If there are, that means your heel are very dry.  And having dry, cracked feet is never sexy if you are wearing high heels.

Since our weather is hot most of the days,  it can happen to anyone.

Here are simple steps you can try to get rid of this dry heel syndrome.  You can omit some of the process if you like and if you continuously wear the foot mask nightly for a week, the problem will go away.

Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 15 minutes

Method:

  1. Use a wide mouth bucket to soak feet for 5-10 minutes filled with 1 cup milk and 5 cups warm water.
  2. Put 4 tablespoons salt or sugar in 1/2 cup oil. Baby oil, sweet almond oil or coconut oil or even vegetable oil works well and voila, you have created a homemade foot scrub!
  3. In a circular motion,  massage the homemade foot scrub into the soles of your feet.
  4. Use a pumice stone to scrub bottoms of feet. Rinse off and towel dry feet.
  1. Before going to sleep at night, try rubbing   product called Stridex pad that has 2 percent salicylic acid which is usually formulated to treat acne.  You can find this product in pharmacies. But if your local pharmacy does not stock this product, you may shop online from Amazon or EBay.  It comes in a box of 55 pieces either maximum strength or for sensitive skin.
  1. Apply a generous dollop of moisturiser  on feet (do not wash off the Stridex).  Try using a super-rich moisturiser like cocoa butter,  such as Eucerin or even Vaseline works best.
  2. Wear a pair of socks throughout the night or for at least 4 hours.

What You Need

  • 1 cup milk
  • Sugar or salt (either will work)
  • Baby oil, sweet almond oil or coconut oil
  • Pumice stone
  • Stridex, found in the acne section of pharmacies. If it is not available in your country, you can buy them online.
  • Rich moisturiser made of cocoa butter or vaseline
  • A pair of socks

MY POEM CORNER

They twist, they bind, they kick.
Their neglected feet.
Poor feet, poor use,
and so abused.
Till cracks appear
Too dry my dear.
Calluses, bunions and painful corns,
Mistreated feet look so forlorn.
Take care,
Be aware,
To treat your feet thus,
For it carries you
From dawn to dusk
It's part of your body too.
