You may have teenagers who have low self esteem because of how they look or you, yourself have weight issues that has changed the shape of your body and perhap you fear your spouse will love you less because of it.
I had a bad case of acne in my teens. Thoughts like, "No one will marry me", "No one will like me," plagued my sensitive 17 year old mind, were constantly circling in my head. At that point in my life, the confidence level was very low and fragile.

I was lucky to find a wise mentor in my husband. As I grew older, I found myself, and along with it my confidence grew.
When I asked my husband why did he choose to marry me, his answer was simple. "I love you from the inside out and nothing else matters." Until today, in his eyes he still sees me as the 26 year old woman he married twenty-three years ago.   He was a mentor, teacher as well as a student of life. I am forever grateful for that.
Love is a decision, not an emotion. So make the decision to love yourselves first.
Here are twenty ways to align your thoughts positively about your self image.
1. Imagine that your body is a vehicle of your dreams. Honor, Respect and Fuel it.
2. List down all the things your body lets you do.  Read and add or revise it often.
3. Be aware of what your body can do each day.  It it is the instrument of your life, not just
an object.
4. Have a list of people you admire:  People who have guided you, your community, or the
world.  Give thought as to whether their appearance was important to their success and accomplishments.
5. Always walk with your head held high, be proud and have confidence in yourself as a person.
6. Don't allow your weight or shape keep you from activities that you enjoy.
7. Pick a style that suits your body and express your personal style and that feels good on your body.
8. Always count your blessings and be thankful for what you have and not what you don't have.
9. Don't waste time and energy worrying about your body and appearance. Instead start thinking about all the things you could accomplish.
10. Be your body’s best friend and supporter, never the enemy.
11. Did you know that your skin renews itself once a month, your stomach lining every five days, your liver
every six weeks, and your skeleton every three months.  Your body is amazing to say the least. It deserves your respect and appreciation of it.
12. Wake up every morning and thank your body for resting and rejuvenating itself so you can enjoy the day.
13. Before you sleep every night, tell your body how much you appreciate what it has allowed you to do throughout the day.
14. Don’t exercise to lose weight or to fight but have fun doing it.
15. Recall the times in your life when you felt good about your body.  By remembering that feeling, tell yourself you can feel like that again, even in this body at this age.
16. List down 10 positive things about yourself--nothing about your appearance.  Keep adding as you go along.
17. Hang a sign on each of your mirrors saying, “I’m beautiful inside and out.”
18. Choose to seek the beauty in the world and in yourself.
19. Positive self talk, “Life is too short to waste my time hating my body this way.”
20. When hungry, eat. When you are tired, rest. Connect with people that remind you of your inner strength and beauty.

Don’t Weigh Your Self-Esteem.  It’s What’s Inside That Counts.
