77) EAT THESE FOODS TO LOSE BELLY FAT

Make it easy on your body to lose belly fat and keep it off for good by eating the following foods.

A doughnut run

When you have an urge to snack, it is because your blood sugar levels have dipped.  By eating fiber rich oatmeal, it will stay in your stomach for hours, therefore staving off a snack attack.

Tip: Stay clear of sugary flavored varieties. Get the plain oatmeal, and sweeten it with some berries or raisins.

Go nutty!

Have a bag of almonds nearby. A Prudue University study has shown that people who ate nuts feel full for longer periods than those who ate rice cakes.  Satisfy your hunger by sticking to 24 almonds a day without overloading on calories.

Tip: Stay away from salted nuts. High sodium raises blood pressure.

Protein Smoothies

You don't have to be a gym member to have this drink.  The amino acids in protein powder burns fat and build muscle.  Just add two teaspoons to a smoothie to bust the stubborn fat. You can find it at health food stores.

Tip: Fruit, Yogurt, and low-fat milk smoothies are delicious and healthy. However, adding protein powder to a chocolate shake does not make it a health food (we can only wish....)

Healthy fats

We all need a littly fat as it controls hunger.  Choose monounsaturated fats such as olive or canola oil.  These oils will keep your cholesterol levels under control and satisfy cravings.

Tip: Stay very far away from hydrogenated vegetable oils as they are loaded with unhealthy trans fat.

Tutti Frutti

Real juicy berries.  Just one cup of raspberries has six gms of filling fiber.

Tip: Jellies with raspberries, strawberries, blueberries flavor are just artificial flavors, colors and not forgetting sugar. And to top it all, not a shred of fiber or berry in sight.

An egg a day keeps the weight away

Some health experts say that eating eggs can affect your cholesterol levels. But they do not mention how may eggs exactly.

Well, I'll just have to do a little research on this. Look out for my upcoming topic about eggs.

Egg actually contain vitamin B12, which is what your body needs to metabolize fat.(another thing that the experts failed to mention.)

Researchers at Louisiana Stat University has found that people who ate one or two eggs for breakfast every day lost more weight than those who ate bagels.

Disclaimer: You will have to talk to your doctor if you have a high cholesterol level.

Beanies

Beans are packed with protein and fiber. Not only that, they are low-cal. It will help you to tone up and lose weight. Eat beans once a week instead of meat.  You will be cutting a lot of saturated fat by replacing it with fiber.  Just remember to drink plenty of water to avoid indigestion and gas.

Tip: Fried and refried beans are full of saturated fats.  Plain black, pinto or other varieties are better choices.

Cold Turkey

When you eat protein food, your body burns more calories compared to when you eat carbs or fats.  So what is the leanest meat you can find?  The answer is Turkey. To cut down even more on saturated fat, fish is the best choice.  Eat more tuna and salmon. Both types of fish are rich in omega-3s which help to prevent the stress chemicals that migrate fat to your abs.

Tip: Stay clear of cured meats and sausage.  They are very high in saturated fats.

The right stuff

Carbs are actually good for you. The key is to choose the right one.  Whole grains have lots of fiber that keeps you full.

Tip: Look out for labels on bread that says "whole grain" or "100 percent whole wheat".  Drop it like a hot potato if  the labels say "wheat" as it has been stripped of all its fiber and nutrients.

PB

PB stands for "Peanut Butter."  Kids love it and you should start loving it too because, PB is packed with niacin which keeps the digestive system working properly and prevents bloating.  Limit yourself to not more than two tablespoons a day.

Tip: Choose all natural PB that does not contain added sugar.
(Personally I like the crunchy kind.)

Delicious Yogurt

Did you notice that young and slim women are potrayed wearing form fitting outfits in yogurt commercials?  Well, there is a reason. Yogurt has calcium which helps to breakdown fat and may even prevent it from forming.

Tip: Pick low-fat or fat-free. Never touch full-fat yogurts.

Make green your favorite color

Dark green veggies such as spinach and broccoli are rich in fiber and very low in calories.  Not only that, their vitamins and minerals are essential for your skin as well as having the ability to trim your waistline.  Eat them as a salad before you dig into the main meal and you will feel full with smaller portions.

Tip: Forget the iceberg lettuce which has almost no fiber.  Top your bowl up with  fresh romaine, arugula, or spinach instead.

Avocados

Another high fiber and dark green fruit, (11 to 17 gms per avocado) This fruit also contains high levels of heart-friendly monounsaturated fats and makes them a great food for starving off hunger.

Tip: Half a cup daily will give you your daily intake of monounsaturated fats.

Green Tea

Green Tea is especially rich in antioxidants and it has been proven to speed metabolism.
Researchers in Switzerland have found that people who drink tea will burn a whopping 266 more calories per day than non-tea drinkers.

For more insights, read "Health Benefits of Green Tea."

Tip: Skip bottled teas as the process has depleted them of slimming nutrients.  Instead opt for a tea bag and steep in one cup of hot water for two minutes. Drink hot or cold. Four cups a day will be sufficient to gradually melt the fats away.

Parmesan cheese

Cheese not only have high protein content which can keep you full longer but according to researchers at University of Wisconsinis it is also a low-cal, calcium rich treat that triggers the body's fat-burning hormones.

Tip: Grate one ounce on soups or salads daily.

Legumes

Legumes are a unique fiber because it resist digestion which is good news. Slower digestion means your body has to work harder.  In other words, burn more calories in order to process the food that you have eaten which will result in weight loss.

Tip: Win your battle of the bulge with half a cup daily.  Again, since this is a fat burner, remember to drink your eight glasses of water a day for the metabolism process to kick into high gear.

Otherwise, you'll end up with bloating and lots of "gas emission." The environment is polluted as it is. So, please do your part for Mother Earth and consideration for your fellow human being's delicate sense of smell.
