Expert's Opinion on Foundation for Asian Skin
Bobbi Brown, the beauty expert who formulates makeup to cater for Asian skin said that yellow based foundations are most suited for women in this neck of woods.
Quote: " I've experimented with countless foundations over the years and I've found that yellow-toned foundations always look the most natural-especially on Asian skin," This is an excerpt taken from Brown's book titled "Makeup Manual."
Why women should wear eye liner

Enhance your natural eye shape by wearing eye liner as it makes your eyes stand out.
Line upper eyelids and leave the bottom lashes alone.
However, if you like, you can draw a softer line on the lower line by smudging a bit with a finger.
To avoid making your eyes look small, do not line the inside rim of your eye. Check to see that the liner is visible when eyes are open. Otherwise, draw a thicker line.

layered and blended in using at least 3 shades on the lids up to the crease.
Tips
- Drawing a crease line can look fake.
- Choose deep jeweled colors such as blues, greens and purples. Experiment with the colors to see which one works for you.
- Always start with a light base color, followed with a medium color and then add a deeper color on the outer corners of your eye and lid. Blend the colors so that it does not look clownish.

- Use eyelash curlers and mascara. If your lashes don't want to curl, aim your hair dryer at the curler and blow dry hot for 3 seconds. Check the heat with your finger before curling. Then apply several coats of mascara and you are good to go.
- If you are not confident in using a lash curler, you could try putting on false eyelashes. It is simple and the least expensive. You just require a bit of practice in glueing it on.

- Eyelash extensions can be done at salons that specializes in this method. Though it can be pricey, it can last up to 3-4 weeks and looks very natural. Shop around as you may find one that offers a promotional price.
- Eyelash growth serums are effective in making your eyelashes grow longer when it is regularly applied in the mornings and nights. However, you can also use natural oils such as coconut, jojoba, almond or olive oils that are known to promote hair growth. Use an old but cleaned mascara wand to swipe the oils on your lashes daily.

To achieve a fresh and dewy look, lightly brush on pink or coral blushers on the apples of your cheek.
Sparse Brows
Not all Asian women are blessed with thick naturally shaped eyebrows like Brooke Shields but there is a remedy for sparse brows.
- Use a special brow brush and dark brown or grayish brown brow powder.
- Avoid black as it will be too harsh.
- Begin from the inside of the brow and using short strokes, brush the brow powder to the outside of the brow and taper it to a soft tail.
Keep brows well groomed
Asian women have black hair and light yellow skin. Therefore any unkept brow hair will stand out like a sore thumb. Keep brows tweezed, waxed or threaded professionally.
Maintain the shape by following the "map" set by professionals.
Conceal and not reveal
Asian skin are prone to pigmentation or sunspots which are blemishes cause by the exposure to sunlight.
To protect your skin from further sun damage, daily apply a sunscreen or sunblock with the highest SPF that you can find to fend off harmful UVA and UVB rays.
Peach based concealers are more suitable for most Asian women who have yellow overtones and yellow surface tones.
On the other hand, women who use skin lightening solutions tend to have a more pink surface tones and therefore can try a pink based concealer.
To get the right shade of concealer, it is best to test a few brands or get expert advice at the beauty counters. Always step out into natural light to double check if the shading looks natural on your skin.
