A particular trend that never gets old is Smokey Eyes.
Wear Smokey Eyes to make a big style statement and it's not just for stick thin models.
Pair it with a slinky evening gown and mile high stilettos and it will guarantee to turn heads. If you can't manage stilettos, then opt for pumps or platform shoes.
Flawlessly blending the colors is the key. It is also important to match a light base color with a rich and dark color. Great mixes are:
Here are the steps on how to get the perfect smokey eye.
Eyeshadow base or primer on the lids will keep eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day wears on. It keeps eyelids dry. Simply apply some across the lids and let it dry before you go to the next step.
For a black, brown or gray smokey eye, apply liner with the chosen color above the upper lash line. Draw a thicker line in the middle of the eye.
If you like a more jewel-toned eye such as violet, line eyes with a blue, purple or deep green liner. (More details will be coming your way in my upcoming topic, "How to perfectly apply Eyeliner")
Blending in the color on the bottom lashes is the key to getting a smokey eye look. To do that, use a pencil eyeliner as they smudge easily. After drawing
the line, to smudge, use your finger and run over it. Next apply a bit of shadow to enhance the smudge effect as well as keep the liner from smearing.
When you are blending in the darker shades, make sure that it stays below the crease of your lids. After applying the base and eyeliner, use an eyeshadow brush and blend in the darker shade beginning at your lash line using an upward motion.
Continue blending into the lash line until the eyeliner disappears. Stop at the crease.

Step Four Light Base Color
Another key in getting a smokey eye look is by pairing a darker hue with a lighter base. If you prefer, use a cream shimmery shadow as the base. Apply over the lids up to your browbone. You will not go wrong with taupe and pearl.
Step Five Darker Shades

Continue blending into the lash line until the eyeliner disappears. Stop at the crease.
Step Six Match
Always double check that the shadings on both eye match. If needed, use a Q-tip to tone down the darker eye or add more color to the lighter eye.
Step Seven Mascara
Mascara helps to open up the eyes and make it pop. Use several coast of mascara so that the lashes become dark and thick. Use a lash curler to curl your lashes if it is not naturally long.
Tips:
- Pair smokey eyes with a nude lipstick. It is important to remember that when you apply strong makeup like smokey eyes or red lips, focus on either eyes or lips, never both at the same time. Otherwise, you will look like a clown.
- To get a fun look, try a purple, blue or even white mascara. Blue mascara makes blue eyes "pop"
- You don't necessary have to use liners in pencil form. Eyeshadows make best eyeliners too. Just use a damp eyeliner brush, dab it into a dark shade or you can also use a dry brush. You will get a deep and precise line. Eyeliner is a must for smokey eyes.
- Experiment with jewel-toned, deep purple or golden brown or any of the many vibrant colors that are available. Slowly build a collection of personal favorite shades.

Sharing a cup of coke,
Girl on his right grabs his neck like a toy,
He jabs the other girl a poke
Bursting out in laughter, that's what it took,
The wheels of love starts turning on it's spoke.
